Your Data
Cookie Policy
What this site stores on your device, what needs your permission, and how to change your mind at any time.

Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy covers belbin.scot and explains how Belbin Scotland, a trading name of White Cube Consulting Ltd, uses cookies and similar technologies. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal data generally.
Nothing that tracks you is set unless you accept it. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you are happy for us to use analytics cookies. If you decline, or simply ignore it, no analytics or marketing cookies are placed and the site works exactly as it does otherwise.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They usually make a site work better and give the site’s owner information about how it is used. They do not normally identify you by name, although personal data we already hold can be linked to them.
This policy also covers similar technologies: web beacons and pixels, and local storage, which lets a site remember something in your browser without using a cookie at all.
2. The cookies we use
We group them the way the rules do.
Strictly necessary - always on
This site is a set of plain pages with no login and no shopping basket, so it sets no cookies of its own. The one thing we have to remember is your cookie choice itself, and we keep that in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie. Without it we would have to ask you on every page.
Analytics and performance - only if you accept
These collect information about how the site is used: which pages are popular, how people arrived, and where something went wrong. Google Analytics data is aggregated. HubSpot data becomes linked to you as a person only if you later submit a form or get in touch.
Functionality - only if you choose to use the feature
Videos on this site show a still image until you click them. Nothing is loaded from YouTube, and no YouTube cookie is set, unless you press play. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which avoids tracking cookies for people who do not go on to watch.
Marketing - none
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. If that ever changes we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any are placed.
3. Third-party cookies
These are set by domains other than ours, and only after you accept.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts for |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells repeat visits apart so that visitor numbers are counted correctly | Up to 24 months |
| _ga_Z7LN75R4HW | Google Analytics | Keeps the session state for this particular property | Up to 24 months |
| __hstc | HubSpot | Records when you visited and how you arrived | 6 months |
| hubspotutk | HubSpot | Identifies the browser, so that a later enquiry can be matched to the pages viewed before it | 6 months |
| __hssc | HubSpot | Tracks the current visit | 30 minutes |
| __hssrc | HubSpot | Notes whether you have restarted your browser | Until the browser closes |
| belbin_cookie_consent_v1 | Belbin Scotland | Remembers your cookie choice. Stored in local storage, not a cookie, and set whichever way you answer | Until you clear it or change your choice |
Google Analytics (GA4) gives us aggregated statistics about how the site is used. IP addresses are anonymised. You can also install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
HubSpot is our customer relationship system. With analytics accepted, it records the pages you looked at; if you later send us an enquiry, that history is linked to your contact record so we can see what you were interested in.
Embedded content. Videos play from YouTube once you click them, and YouTube may set its own cookies at that point. Those are outside our control and covered by Google’s own policies.
Payments. When you buy a report you are taken to Stripe’s own secure pages to pay. Any cookies set there belong to Stripe and are covered by Stripe’s policies, not this one.
4. Managing your cookie preferences
- Our banner. Choose Accept or Decline when you first visit. To change your mind later, use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page: it clears your choice and asks again. If you move from Accept to Decline, we delete the Google and HubSpot cookies already set.
- Your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari.
- Opt-out tools. Google’s add-on above stops Google Analytics on every site you visit, not just this one.
Blocking cookies in your browser will not break this site, since nothing here depends on them. It may affect other sites.
5. How long cookies last
- Google Analytics: up to 24 months from your last visit.
- HubSpot: 6 months, except the two session cookies, which last 30 minutes and until you close your browser.
- Your cookie choice: kept in local storage until you change it or clear your browser data. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. If we add a new category of cookie we will ask for your consent again.
7. More information
For how we handle personal data generally, see our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about this cookie policy, email [email protected] or call 01224 531524.
